Fishneedit reputable?

I have an Oddysea T5 fixture right now (20"), with stock bulbs. Would the 150W MH be a big upgrade on a 10G (switching to 15G) tank? Or would I be better off with the 70W?

Go with the 150, that fixture is not a great one but will work for what you are doing. Quality is only marginally better than the Odyssea. Before I bought another marginal quality piece of equipment, would look at the AquaMedic 150 watt MH, close in price and a real M81 ballast.

+1^
I think the aquamedic suggestion is a good one. You aren't saving money when the a cheap light gives out on you in a couple months, I've seen people put aqua medics on decent quality builds and they are affordable enough.

Seems reasonable, I saw the low price on the FNI so figured it was worth asking. I think I'll just stick it out with my crappy T5's until I buy my Nanobox. Thanks guys.

I have and currently using a fishneedit 250w. Works fine I use a phoenix bulb instead of the supplied one. Been running daily since 2009 when I purchased it with no problems.

BUT I also now have some aquamedic 250w pendents for my next build and without a doubt they are higher quality. I would go for them new in a heartbeat for that price.

"Ballast and Bulbs are sold separately." Just to clarify is $129 for the pendant only, butof course I would get an aquamedic over fishneedit,

Wow. There is even a picture of the ballast with it. I don't see where it says that, but I believe you. They would have tricked me.

Why not go cheap LED for a tank that size? Heat and evap alone on a 10 or 15gal will be a pain. Aquatraders has cheap, decent LEDs

I don't think leds in that price range could possibly yield as good of growth as even cheap t-5 or halide fixtures.

Yeah my reason for asking is FishNeedit has 50% off code right now. I figured it'd be a decent upgrade until I actually buy a Nanobox LED.
