well i got my gbta on friday and my clownfish didnt seem to like it so much in his sleeping area...this morning i wake up the tank lights are off i look inside the tank and clownfish seems to be taking to the gbta but not really sure. He seems to be snuggling with it and stopping just to lay down on it...im afraid to turn on the lights when i get home later tonight.....do you think they have bonded????

They are getting there. It is important to know that clowns don't just have the correct coating on their body from birth to protect then from any and all anemones. They have some resistance, but actually slowly "learn" the proper chemical make up of a particular host anemone by putting the tenticles in their mouth, a little at first, then more frequently, so it may just still be a little irritated while learning the correct protective coating. I thought mine was trying to eat the anemone at first! Give it a little more time.

And my false perc really only "snuggles" in the anemone when it sleeps at night, like you mentioned yours is doing. During the day it just grazes it in-between runs up to the glass to see what I am doing when I walk by!

My true percs bonded with my GBTA after 2 weeks. It happened after lights out as well, strange.

During the day they usually just hover nearby and only go into the nem when they fight (still trying to establish dominance), but I always find them both sleeping in the nem at night.:bounce2:

Well thanks for the info....I'm just glad they are bonding I heard tr clowns either take forever to bond or not at all..

My misbar perc is in her rbta 95% of the time. Occasionally she'll go off exploring, but since it's only a 30g cube, there's not far to go.

I think she's having an afternoon nap right now, she hasn't moved in the past 15 minutes or so.
