Fixface dying... what gives?

Hey guys, I noticed my foxface didnt really eat yesterday when i fed. Otherwise the fish looked healthy. Was grazing on the rocks and belly looked full so I figured he was just not hungry.

Never been a fish that ate much anyway, spent its days grazing mostly. I've had it for maybe 6 months and always behaved similarly.

Today I couldnt find it and upon searching i found it laying on a rock belly up. I thought he was dead but I moved the water and he swam away.
Though it seems he cant control his swimming because he keeps going belly up or face down.

He looked skinnier today and his color was darkened and then some discoloration in some places. I know foxfaces change color but it is the only external cue. Nothing else on the fish. Tankmates look fine and ate well yesterday.

Parameters are good too.

I moved him to my display refugium that isnt connected yet to the main tank to see if he'd perk up. My saltwater mollies seem to have given birth there too (saw some babies.. bitter sweet). If foxface wants to eat the babies id gladly him do it if it means him getting better, though he doesnt look like he will make it through the day. :(

I did have a lot of zoanthinds die due to a nudibranch attacking my colonies. I dip them and reintroduced. Some of the colony didnt make it. I dont know if they could have released toxins?

I dont know what else it could be.

Sorry to hear about your fish. I would move this post over to the marine fish forum, you may get a quicker response. Maybe an admin can do it for you? Hopefully you can get some help before it's too late. I know how attached we can get to our fish. Good luck!

unfortunately he didnt make it. I dont know what could have killed him. :/

That's too bad but unfortunately it's a common occurrence in this hobby. Some fish can be very fragile while others take to aquarium life with no problem. I myself have had a few fish die and could not find an answer as to why. I know stress plays a big role in the fishes health but I'am no expert. I would still post something in the marine fish forum and see if you get any answers. There are some extremely sharp people on this forum with vast amounts of knowledge and experience. I'm sure they can help you out. That way you can learn from this experience and maybe prevent it in the future. Good luck!

good is not a parameter.
Numbers, please.
YOu need numbers for salinity, alkalinity, temperature, for starters.
Ich remains a possibility, but your other fish are---? [species].
