Flame Angel- are they reef safe?

You'll get the same answer from everyone you ask and all books/websites you read. Flame angels do better than other angels with coral, but it's all individualistic. You'll either get one that loves to pick at all coral, one that picks at some specific coral, and some that will just nibble here and there.

50/50 chance with any angel.

I think I have had two over the years but can't recall exactly. Anyway, the only problem I had was with Wellso's. No problem with zoas, sps, or any other lps. Picked at and ate and killed two wellso's.

Some are some aren't, I think it really depends on the fish. I also think that if they get enough to eat they wont pick at corals.... hope this helps.

Reef safeness depends an awful lot on what you keep. Large polyp, fleshy corals are irresistible; SPS almost always ignored.

I agree with what was said earlier that it really depends on the fish. IME, I have seen well feed Flames still nip at coral. I have seen Flames being feed every 2 days and not touch a thing. I have also them not pick at nothing for years and then one day decide to attack the corals. So it really depends on the fish.
