I bought my flame angel yesterday around this time. Since I brought him I tried to feed him three times. Once last night with Formula 1, once this morning with Flake, and just now with some Mysis.

He didnt take to any of it, hes just swimming around but not grazing at all.

Also I dont know if this is wierd, but he kind of likes once spot behind the rocks and he starts to float slightly sideways.. but not really sideways, just hes not straight up and down, and kind of on a tilt for a few seconds..

Should I be concerned? How long does it take to get these guys to feed? Should i buy some cyclopeeze tonight, I hear thats a good food to try and get fish to start eating, any truth to that??

Well I would give it a day or two. As far as floating sideways this maybe a sign that he has ICK or something of that nature and is deciding if he wants to scratch

I am trying not to over feed.. when I am trying to feed him I am just putting a very very little to see if he takes it.

As far as ICK.. I really hope not!! He hasnt scratched at all, but he is going to my cleaner for a cleaning very often (very often meaning I have seen him being cleaned atleast 10 times since I brought him home yesterday)

Flames are herbavores, get some Frozen Formula 2 and some Frozen Pygmy Angel Food, might have better results with that

I thought the eat both plant and meaty foods??
They do, but might prefer one over the other.
Most new fish are a little finicky for a day or two.
FWIW, It's always good to make sure that a fish is eating, or at least grazing on LR, at the LFS before bringing it home.
My flame was grazing on LR, but it still took it three or four days before it began eating prepared foods. Now it gobbles everything.

Should I be concered that he is staying in one place mostly? Yesterday he was much more active swimming around and everything. Hes swimming around today also just spending most of his time in one spot hidden at the back of the tank

I had a similar eating problem with a flame angel that i have, He wasn't eating for about a week or so when I first got him. Mine was showing interest by picking at rocks for algae, but had no interest in anything I put in the tank. I fed him some live brine obtained from a LFS and that stimulated the eating, he now accepts anything and has become a fat pig.

As far as the turning on the side...is there current in that area? My Flame loves to swim in the current and flop around, I also have noticed he wedges himself in small areas when getting ready to sleep.

Try some live brine and see what happens

Mine LOVES frozen mysis. Comes out and eats. I don't see him picking on the nori or the graciallera, but the bigger Tangs and Rabbit fish hog that. He's lookin' gud. I've had him for about 3 months and he didn't come out for three days after I put him in the tank.

Try the mysis.

UPDATE:

He starting eating this morning flake that I fed :) Also hes swimming around much more and grazing on the rocks. Seems much happier today
