Flame angel with ich?

I just noticed some very small white spots in the fins of my flame angel. Is this ich and if so should I leave it alone for a while or start treating asap? I can't use copper based cause I have inverts and it will probably be hard to catch him within my rocks so I'd like to treat my whole tank. I did a 40% water change yesterday and my temp usually stays around 80. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

How long have you had the flame angel. If you have had it for awhile and feed it with a healthy diet then it could throw off the ich. That is all you can hope for when a fish gets ich in a display tank.
In the meantime I would start up a quarantine tank just in case the angel gets worse.
Run an hob filter off of your display tank for 3 days then transfer it to the qt tank. use the water from the display tank to match the parameters
Once the fish is in the qt then it can be treated with copper effectively

Re: Flame angel with ich?

Thanks or the info but it doesn't matter now cause it died this morning. I don't know why cause I'm sure the ich wasn't bad enough and it acted perfectly healthy. Always ate really good and didn't show any signs of any problems. I feed my shrimp brine shrimp in the AM and mysis in the PM.

Depends how long you have had the fish. If just recently purchased then it way have had the first stage and housing alot more ich in the gills that is evident by the white spots(the white spots are not ich--just lacerated skin where the parasite has eaten into the underlining layer of the fish)
In the case of ich the fish suffocates to death as the ich parasite takes over more of the gill membranes.
