Flame Angel

Considering purchasing one at my LFS. Any info would be great, also I have a lunar wrase and a yellow tang in a new 75gal fish tank! After the Flame what other fish would you suggest?

Well, first off I assume you're putting him into a fish only tank so you don't have to worry about him (or her :D) nipping on coral (although they are known to be pretty good with coral). They can be somewhat aggressive once established but they are a hardy fish and will eat just about any food. They like to peck algae off the rocks so having an established tank with lots of rock is a good thing. Being that they can get aggressive, you may consider adding one as your last fish. I would always add tangs and angels last so other, maybe more passive fish can establish themselves first. But then again I added a couple wrasses after my Cherub angel and he didn't bother them...All in all, Flame angels have a rep of being a great fish.

I don't see any issue with your current list. They eat some prepared food but most of they diet is from grazing rocks and glass all day. So I hope you have some established live rocks for your new flame to graze on.

Hard to say what future stocking because I don't know what you like. I've various angels in the tank and the flame gets along with the rest.

mine picks on live rock but also devours flakes and likes mysis. I have him in a 75 with 4 green chromis and one 6 line wrasse. Everyone gets along fine. My flame never bothers zoanthids but nipped at every micro and acan I ever put in tank so be careful - they are borderline reef safe.

ahhh flames aren't bad i have one with my yellow tang they are best friends.....and its a reef tank never had one problem keep um fat and they wont peck at your corals...hehe
