I recently put a flame angle in my tank.(MONDAY). he hides in the caves in the rockwork and seldom comes out. Are they that shy or does it just take time eto come around?
no one in the tank is picking on him and he is the biggest in the tank.
Thanks

I used to watch Touched by an Angle, but I digress. Most fish are very shy at first intoduced totally normal. If he's healthy he'll be out in due time. Don't worry about it yet.

I have a flame that is shy. He will come around. He is now out and about but still laid back which is a good thing as it was easy to introduce a coral beauty afterwards.

I have had a flame before and it took him a while to start coming out at all but he never got really comfortable that he stayed out in the open, I think that type of angel just likes to go in and out of rock work. It was the same situation my friend had as well

Did you quarantine the Flame? In addition to all that's been written about using a QT o prevent diseases and parasites from getting into your DT, fish are much easier to introduce fish to captivity when you use a QT.

typically, a Flame is not a shy fish...seeing as how she is a new addition, give her some time to adjust, did you rearrange the lr and leave the lights off for a couple days? To be safe- double check that water conditions are okay...is there any tank mate bothering her?
