Flame Wrasse Female in 3ft tank?

Do you guys think a female flame wrasse will be OK in a 36in tank? I assume it will ultimately become male?

Yeah I think so. Without other females, or similar wrasses there is no guarantee it will ever change to male.

Personally, I'd like to see them in 4' or longer tanks.

In due time, it should become male.

Appreciate it. I'll probably pass then. I don't want to cramp my fish. With a tank my size should I stick to smaller flashers? Are there fairies that would do OK in a 3ft?

I have a 3ft tank and would not put a fairy wrasse in there. There really aren't any that are small. I have seen fairies in 3ft tanks at my LFS and it looks wrong. They get from one side to the other in the blink of an eye. I have a possum wrasse (great fish if you haven't considered them) and the last fish I add might be a flasher wrasse.

Possum wrasse looks like a good addition. Do you ever have problems with other fish outcompeting it for food? I've read they can be pretty shy.

I kept two fairies and a flasher wrasse in a 3-foot tank (90g) with no problems.

But Hunter is the man with the mad wrasse knowledge....

3' is a great size for Paracheilinus (flashers)
