Flame wrasses

Beautiful fish!!!!!!!:eek1:

I'm placing a flame wrasse order tomorrow. Still on the fence about ordering one male, or two females.

How long has it been from the time you noticed that one of the fish were turning male till now? I'm just trying to figure out how long it takes to go from female to super male.

Thanks in advance, and again, you have some incredible fish!!!!!

Peace

Thank you for your compliments!

I agree with the others in getting female(s) as the males are notoriously bad shippers.

My current male started changing about a week after going from QT to DT. It's been about 3 weeks so far, but he still does not have his full male coloration.

And just to note... I did state in my first post that I am aware of the risk that the other females may change

I will be sure to update as I go, for better or worse :)

It takes about 3 weeks. I would get 2 in different sizes, with one being much larger.

Once dominance is established, it will turn.

Good luck and please post pics.

Still have my trio... but they are up for sale so figured I would post my last update as promised.

One of my females made it into the overflow about a week after my last post on here, and I wasn't able to fish her out for a day or so. Within a few days of rejoining the tank she started to take on some male coloration, but it hasn't progressed like the first male did.
It's like he/she is stuck in transition, and all three are still happily co-existing at this point - three months later. I believe I have a dominate male, a subordinate male, and a female which is curbing any aggression.

Sadly, I'm breaking down the tank they are in.
