I picked up 100 pounds of new cured LR and found this guy on one of the rocks. He is about 2-3 inches long but changes shape as needed. He is active and moves about my QT tank. If he is bad is it likely others are on the new LR as well and should I treat for flatworms. This guy does not look like the tiny bad ones others have that I know.

Thanks. If you need other pictures please just ask. He is easy to get to.

Do you have snails and want to keep them? Then treat for flatworms. This appears to be one of the mollusc-eating species. With small cryptic species like this if you see one there's almost certainly going to be others in that 100 pounds of rock.

I had one of those in an old tank I had, it looked EXACTLY like that.

I guess I now know why I couldn't keep snails in there. There was only 1 MONSTER turbo left in that tank when I tore it down., and plenty of empty shells.

I never put 2 and 2 together until now. I left the FW alone, cuz I thought it was a cool critter.

Dang!

I have this guy in my snail tank (QT) right now so he should be very happy. I am going to create a trap for my main tank and put some snails in a container then put holes in it that are alittle smaller than the shells so the FW can get inside but the snails cannot get out. Then I will see if anything comes running over the next week. I hate using chems to kill things.
