Bryan - Any update on the AEFW's? Are they in QT yet?

I had to work this week so I was unable to pick up my tank. I am visiting Rod in the morning to pick up the new tank. Funny thing, I did another TMPCC dip of the infected corals 6 days after last dip and...no AEFW dead in the bottom of the water. Very strange. There is no way I could be so lucky that they are all dead.

QT goes up tomorrow.

AEFW Update

Another dip of TMPCC and...no flatworms. What gives? There is no way they all died from the first set of dips. Three dips after the first and not a single flatworm in any successive dips. very strange.

You may have killed all of the adults in the first dips. Keep dipping as there may have been eggs that had not yet hatched. That is what dips 2+ are for are the eggs and the new hatches that may not be visible to the human eye.

Wouldn't the hatchlings be visible in the water I pour off from my treatment glass? After treating with TMPCC, I look to see if any particles/solids are left. Seeing none, I pour the leftover water though a coffee filter and look at these solids under my daughter's microscope. i have found a few copepods, but no AEFW.

One bad thing, by 6 line wrasse has disappered. He seemed like the best treatment item so far.

I will see what happens on dips 4 and 5.

Hmm, can't explain why you are not finding anything. Hopefully you were successful with your first dips and have killed them.

I'm also curious how are you still finding copepods after dips #2 & #3 of the TMPCC? That stuff pretty much kills everything on treatment #1. Maybe they are burrowed deep in the rocks that your corals are attached to. Have you been doing a 100% water change in your QT tank before you put the acro's back in?
