Flatworm Exit Safe?

Whys

I have red planaria flatworms and my LFS has told me Flatworm Exit is completely safe to use and won't harm anything else in my tank. Is this true?

I was also told it is 100% effective and that those who report repopulation simply reacquired them from a new source. Is this accurate?

read the instructions on the box. Flatworm exit is safe, it is the dieing/dead flatworms that can release a toxin in the water. They recommend vacuming out as many worms as you can before and after treatment.

Firebird is correct. Salifert FWE is perfectly reef safe. Getting as many of the flatworms out before treatment and then getting as many of the dead bodies out after treatment is the key. Don't underestimate how many flatworms you have and don't underestimate the toxicity of their dead bodies.

I used it (safely) but it didn't get all of them and I did NOT add anything new. They came back, although it seems that their population has reached a steady state. From my reading, you should probably double or triple the amount recommended and then redose a few days later. That is my plan when I can get the time.

Yeah, from what I've heard, redosing a few days later can be key.

Thanks guys, this is good to know.
