I finally got to take a good pic of this thing!!

From my readings it looks like a flat worm...is this the "bad kind"? If so, can I just scrape it off the glass and pull it out?

Not sure its the same but I've seen him multiple times on the glass on different days. Never seen 2 at the same time.

I'm having hard times finding many differences between my pal here and pics of flatworks in the internet. Newbie's eyes.
Can you explain how you can so easily tell them apart? This one is smaller than a penny, if it helps.

That would be a very big FW, and usually they don't travel alone. Funny story. Many years ago when I first got into this hobby I so desperately wanted to have sufficient pods to support a Mandarin. One day my wife and I found hundreds of tiny things all over the glass and we were excited. We let them multiply until one day we found out they were flat worms. It took quite a while to get rid of them. Now I make new mistakes:)

Thanks JTL!!

Is there an ordered list of rookie mistakes somewhere??...that'll help us skip some!!. You guys just saved a baby limpet...I was getting ready to smash it against the glass.

Experience my friend.. experience.. You can't train that..

Plus it looks nothing like a flatworm.. :p
I clearly see snail butt crack.. woot..woot.. :)

The shell on it helps ID it as a limpet. Google image marine flatworm, you'll see a big difference

Not a flatworm. I have had them and they actually have like a 'tail' that splits. Kinda looks like a forked tongue. The one you have has a shell. I have one of those in my 10 gallon and I see it eating stuff off my rocks all the time. It is very cool!

If you take a look at it from the top, you will notice that it looks sort of like a traditional Asian hat that might be worn in the fields. Flatworms look nothing like that at all.
