Flatworm In-Tank Treatment

Hi all,

So, I have these lovely boogers in my quarantine system:

First up...any species ID on them?

I've tried Salifert's Flatworm Exit and a few other brands of similar flatworm treatments (up to 300% dosage spaced apart weekly for several weeks). The most success I had (but wasn't successful entirely) was with PraziPro dosed at 600%.

I'd prefer to go the chemical route since this is my QT tank, and natural controls aren't 100% effective. Dips work on them, but I can't tear the tank down and restart right now (just had a baby).

Any recommendations? Any reef-safe dosage of levamisole? The tank only has zoanthids/mushrooms, LPS, SPS, a couple hermits, snails, and a starfish.

Thanks in advance!

This is your QT tank? wouldn't the medications to treat your fish kill them. Copper is very lethal to inverts.

Springers Damsel. If you keep overdosing meds you will kill everything in that tank.

Thank you for your concern, but that is not what I am asking. I have used FWE in excess of the recommended dosage many times with success on other species of flatworms (and many other people have with success as well). If there are no other chemical options, then I may try the damsel. Thanks.

I don't follow your post. It's my QT tank for corals. There are no fish in the system. I never mentioned having fish in it or using copper... ???

OH sorry.. I thought this was a QT for fish and would get treated. Killing flatworms in the process.

Velvet nudibranches vacuum them all them.

I have never had a flatworms get to the point of being a problem in my tank but I did see one from time to time. Since getting a six-line i have not seen any flatworms. He seems to eat just about anything he can get in his mouth.

coris wrasses have been known to eat them
and springer damsels
velvet nudis will too but unless you have a friend with them too they will starve

Soooo...no one has any chemical recommendations? I would prefer to avoid the natural route (for reasons stated above).

Guess I'm off to answer my own questions. They're Amphiscolops flatworms for the ID...and looks like I'm going to figure out a "reef safe" dosage for them using levamisole. I'll perform trials outside the tank first.
