fleas

Are there any type of pod like flee that would bother clams? My squamosa has some little black flea looking things on its shell wandering around. Now a few are cruisin around on the mantle. Any concern or are they some type of pod?

Edit: I see normal looking pods wandering around too but I've just never seen these before.

I was just looking closer at the tank and there is a **** load of them all over the sand and areas of live rock. Im thinking it is likely just a population explosion of some type of pod because of an increased food source from recent DTs phyto dosing.

I saw some of those on my crocea. I asked around, and was told not to worry. That was a month ago, clam looks happy as a . . . clam.

yeah clam seems happy, they aren't even really on the clam anymore and the numbers seem to be dwindling down some. Would post pics but can't get the file size down to 50k no matter what i do. Lowest possible settign on camera and cropping etc.
