flexable pvc

Does anyone know what kind of adhesive I need to use with flexable pvc? Can I use standard pvc cement?

Or, spend a couple bucks more and get the PVC cement made for flexible PVC., and follow the directions. I saw the flexible connection come undone on a friends tank, it was not pretty. He used regular PVC cement and twisted the flexible PVC into the slip fitting..... oooops...

You want to get the flexible glue, or at the least use the hot glue as it is called. The flexible stuff does not glue as well as the normal pvc and can come loose as Dave says, so get the good glue and make sure you seat the pipe all the way in the fittings.

1) Clean the ends to be glued with a pvc cleaner. There is a coating on flex pvc that the cleaner removes.
2) Primer - any kind. I use clear primer.
3) Flex pvc solvent/glue - you can purchase it here - http://www.savko.com/partlist.asp?pgid=8&ptid=27&pid=137
This solvent/glue is thicker and a better solution than regular pvc glue.

Some people have used regular pvc glue with success. For me, I'd rather spend a few extra $$'s and not worry.
