I'm looking to possibly get a flounder for my tank and as of now i have bigger smooth crush coral, but i do know they need sand in the tank, but i heard somewhere that they need like air pockets if possible but idk, wanting to get some feedback from someone who has kept flounders before. Thanks!!

hi i've had a flounder in my tank for a few months and i love it he eats like a pig and has shown some growth but i would have to recomend not to with the crushed coral

100 gallons minimum (for smallest species), nothing that may pester it (triggers and puffers are probably not a good idea but ive kept them with puffers before peacefully)...don't keep it with anything that may outcompete it for food (or you can target feed it....and most important NOT THAT MUCH LIVE ROCK, (or a very large tank with a very large open spaces)

I've always found flounders hard to feed unless you target feed them, I've never had one compete with anything else for food, had to always pretty much drop it on the flounder.
