I swear, can you ever have enough flow? At times, I think I see dead spots!
My standard 6X2X2 tank has a center over flow. Rock stacked up in the middle to cover it, including a very big show piece with a happy RBTA. On the sides, I do have rock, but my tank is pretty open for the most part, I think. I've taken most of my rock and put it in my new, gigantic sump.
My flow now? Two 6100's on a 7095. Basically have alternating current, 40% to 100%, every 10 seconds or so. Tunze's are back wall in each corner, facing the glass at an angle. My return pump is a Poseidon PS4, split two ways, comes through eductors, I point 'em pretty much straight foward.
I also have a wavebox in the right corner towards the front of the glass. Nothing blocking it. Have it set for big waves. Because of the tunzes and that I only have about an inch of water between the top of my tank and the box, I don't notice the wave action. I know it works if I turn the tunzes and pump off, so I know it's creating flow. Water sometimes sneaks to the top of the box and enters, (that's okay, isn't it?)
I guess I'm just making sure I have enough flow, after writing all that, it seems like it.
