Flow/return pump question?

I am considering running two 2" drains with a Iwaki 100 VT rated at roughly 2000 gph at 6' head. This is a 250 gal tank dimensions 2' by 8', is this going to be the right set up or maybe to much flow. Just wanted to know before I order the pump. Thanks
Let me know if I'm missing any info that may help.

IMO, 2000gph going through the sump is a bit too much. You cannot use your return pump as your main source of flow. Couple thing you may encounter.

1. Microbubble if your sump isn't large enough

2. Your protein skimmer will not be able to keep up with such large turnover rate.

I would use a small pump like Eheim 1262 for return and use bigger pump for CL or using powerhead to circulate the water inside your aquarium. But what are you planning to keep?

Any other ideas? Thinking of going with the Iwaki MD70RLT instead, rated at 1500gph at 4' head. Maybe a better idea? These two 2" drains will be dumping into a 75 ga sump. Mainly going to be supplied with SPS.

I agree with Jarhead, but if you want good flow and are concerned with your electric bill I would recommend a sequence reeflo snapper at only 98 watts and 2500 gph @ 0 head.
