Low Flow Pump for UV

I'm going to add a 25 Watt UV to my Red Sea 170 and because of the small tank volume, I'm having trouble getting/finding a low end flow rate pump. According to my calculations, the total tank volume is 43 gallons (34 display and 9 sump). For algae looks like I need a flow rate of 205 gph. That's not the issue so much but if I want to slow it down for parasites I need 65 gph. I am looking at a DC mighty Jet Mid Size A10 DC pump rated 538 gph (3x - 4.5 x tank volume) and I'll have a 4-foot return to the main tank so I know I'll lose some to head pressure.

What I want to understand is if I can reduce the flow rate low enough to get to the low flow rate with the DC controller because someday I might need that lower flow for parasitic control. Considering a gate valve but worried about pump strain dialing it down.

Can I dail this pump down to that low flow?

Thoughts and comments are welcomed. UV is on the way so need to catch up.

Thanks

How about an Eheim, their pumps can handle a valve no problem.
The model 1200 is about 300GPH & max head of 6' so that may even be too small.
