flow

Hey guys. Would you think a rw-4 in a 37 gallon tank be to much? I was thinking of wave one mode on lowest setting. What you think?

I have a 280 GPH powerhead in mine and last night my male was wrapped around it directly in the flow... Like he was playing in it. They can handle a lot more flow than people think, as long as you have good anchor points for them. I have a main return pump at 350 gph on one end and the powerhead on the other, but I also have a mass amount of macro to slow the flow. But they still wrap their tails around both inlet and just "hang" there in the flow

Whoop whoop!! Thats exactly what I was saying. But no some other person kept saying it was way to strong. Thank you for that. Yes I plan on having macros all over so not worried. The tank is cycling so nothing in there now. :) thanks again

Please protect any slots/openings that a tail might inadvertently get into and dammaged by the propellar.
Some have used foam and some have used mesh or fiberglass screening to achieve this protection.

They don't go near the in flow, they wrap around the stem on the outlet and just "hang" there in the flow, my bad...the other end on my return pump is just a wide nozzle at the end of a vinyl hose that runs from my sump up through a UV filter and then into the refugium/sea horse tank.

The LFS near me keeps their seahorses in a tank with flow that lightly pushes them across the tank if they swim up into it, and they seem perfectly fine with it. Seahorses aren't very good at swimming, but they can go places if they want, and flow doesn't bother them nearly as much as people think.

X2 on protecting the pump opening. I run 2 MP10's on my 60g seahorse tank, but I use the Ecotech foam on them and keep them really clean. They can easily become a source for algae growth if you dont.

I know this thread is a little old, but I have a question about Fudz 60 gallon...
You mentioned that you have two MP10 in your 60 cube. How do you have them placed?
I was never able to come up with a good setting for the MP10 that didn't seem to blow mine away.....I ended up replacing it with a couple of Jebaos
