Flow?

I currently have my Crocea about half way down in my 75g with a 6x54 T5 setup. The clam is a few inches away from my Vortech (running in a pulse mode to create a wave) and while the mantle is fairly open, it blows around in the current.

Is this flow bad for the clam? Should I try to relocated (if not attached) to a spot with less flow?

Aside from turning (in place) a bit, it hasnt moved from where I put it originally.

Could I even move the clam down to the sand?

croceas are found wedged in LR and even between corals (in LR) in the wild. They are not found in the sand. If you put it in the sand, you need to make sure you provide it some kind of rock/tile/plate/clam shell - something for it's foot to secure on.

if it hasn't moved - then I wouldn't worry about it.

if the mantle is flapping, i would move it, it will stress the clam over time. clams like flow, just not direct flow.

I would also suggest moving the clam. They dont really like getting blown around and tend to contract thier mantle when the do. Typically a clam will move if it doesnt like the spot its in which suggests that maybe your clam likes that spot or is already attached firmly to the spot.
