Flowerpot Anemone?

I asked one of my LFS if they had any maxi minis or rock flower anemones in stock. They replied that they had maxi minis and "flower pots".
It's pretty close to "rock flower", and then there's goniopora to think about...
Has anybody seen/heard of "flower pot" nems, or an anemone commonly mislabeled as such?

Lfs they just ruin this hobby reef carsalesmen never trust one
Well, that's sort of a sweeping indictment, don't you think? Some people who own or work at LFS are well-meaning but misinformed. The LFS I frequent is owned by a great guy who is extremely knowledgeable but makes mistakes from time to time like everyone else.

Usually, the problem is common names, which cause confusion even to experienced reefkeepers.

I'm not familiar with anything called a "flower pot" anemone. I suspect, as the OP seems to, that the LFS has a goniopora or a rock flower anemone. The only way to know is to go see for yourself.

I don't no in Calif maybe its better but the places near me are were corals and anemones go to die they no nada about anything and will sell u salt to put in fresh if you are willing and doing this for 25 pluses years I found maybe one person with the proper knowledge or guts not to sell u something that wonder work everyday I see a post with a bleached or dying anemone sold to people with new tanks a d bad lighting saying they are healthy and there tank is fine.so no I don't think what I said was wrong you might have a good knowledgeable lfs so u are very lucky commend them .flowerpots anemone?maybe a alias but#$#&%$!%$%$all I have to say

Haha, yeah, that's all I got when I searched the forum before I posted; it's a interesting idea.

So I went to the store yesterday(this is one of my favorite LFS, so I was kind of curious what was up. This guy will loose a sale if he knows something won't work in your tank, so it was kinda weird.) Long story short, I saw BTAs and maxi minis in the anemone tank, and goniopora in the frag tanks. Busy store, fast on-phone e-mailing and a toddler underfoot strike again, lol!
And thanks to a tip-off from another local reefer, I found the rock flower nems at another store :)
