fluke treatment with prazipro question

I just dosed last night my sps tank. tank volume is about 735 and I dosed 6 oz of prasipro. this mornring I noticed that bristle worms is still living. skimmer, uv , ozone , bio pellets are off line. I understand it has only been 10 hours or so but did I dose enough if I saw a bristle worm still at work and play. I did not dose to kill the bristle worms.. fish I believe have flukes but it is my understanding that the bristle worms and feather dusters will not make it.

In theory, bristle worms, feather dusters do not survive Prazipro treatment (and they still might not).

In reality, they oftentimes do survive.

well 48 hours later the bristle worms and sps corals all looking good. in fact some sps have more color deeper I should say.. bad news is I am pretty sure my suspicions are correct ick.. not flukes..

Prazzipro should not affect feather dusters and bristleworms it used for parasites like flukes and black ich not tube worms. The reason the coral seems to be doing better is because of the agent used with the praziquantel. It is similar to dosing vodka that is why it is recommended to turn the skimmer off.

wow .. just started my skimmer back up after 6 days or prazipro.. its going nuts. smallest bubbles I ever had.. having problems with keeping the micro bubbles in the skimmer neck..

That will go on for a while. It was almost two weeks after dosing before my skimmer started acting normal again.

this is nuts.. wow.. so many tiny tiny air bubbles.. if I did not know from the posts I would think that my skimmer was messed up

Sorry to bump this old thread but did your SPS suffer at all while you dosed Prazi? Did you dose twice?

I have dosed prazi in my main tank. no problem.. no negative effects on sps. it does totally foam your skimmer..had to turn mine way way down.. don't take collection from skimmer but leave on so that you get dissolved o2 in the tank.. watch your parameters carefully.. that is why I say keep skimmer on for o2.

Sounds good. I'll leave the skimmer on but will take off the collection cup. Did you dose twice, 5 days apart?
