Ok so I did a 3 min FW dip to see flukes yet I didn't see round ones but I did see a mosquito larvae looking thing that was wriggling around in the FW. It had hairs , a big head. I don't know if this is infectious or not it also was tiny that I could look under 10x magniffication to see. Unfortunately I don't have a trinocular scope so.
As To take a picture
I have a question, Is there such a thing as gill flukes in saltwater fish? Sorry if I am going off topic because I think this is a discussion on Body flukes. Is there a difference or are they the same beast.
Yes, there are flukes that prefer the gills and others prefer head, lips, rostrum (nose), fin bases. Still others prefer body parts where there is less drag, i.e. behind the pectoral fins. That being said if the level of infestation is high enough a "gill fluke" will settle for a fin or body part and vice versa.
