Flukes?

You could PP or freshwater dip to confirm its flukes before treating the QT

Thanks for the response. Can you elaborate? What am I looking for in the freshwater dip to confirm this? How long would the dip be?

And does PP = prazipro? Also I have cupramine and I saw that sk8r recommends using copper in a post and snorvich recommends prazipro so I am a little confused.

cooper is good with certain things and PP is good for flukes. Dmorty217 do a freshwater dip you will see the flukes drop off the fish and at that point you can treat the tank with PP. Doing freshwater dips make sure PH and temp match the QT. Try to use a colorful container so it can help you better see them drop off, if there are any. I like using the orange Home Depot buckets.

Okay thank you, I will buy some prazipro and do the freshwater dip tonight, should this just be a few minutes?

Less than 5 mins on the dip. 1-2 mins should suffice. Do some research on it before just throwing the fish into a freshwater dip

I have done some reading and my plan is to use RODI of course, match temp and pH as best as possible, and watch the fish the whole time he is in the dip. I haven't seen too many key points other then these few.

RODI water is very corrosive to mucous membranes and gills - I would add a splash of salt water (10mL/L) to make it less corrosive. Also temperature and pH should be matched.
The maximum duration would be 10 minutes. After that fish may get harmed. I actually managed to kill a damsel once in a FW bath that went over 10 minutes.

Thanks for all the info guys. I took a photo of my clowns when I got home and I am not so sure it is flukes anymore. The slightly discolored spot is so small that the camera doesn't even show it. The fish hasn't been showing any of the symptoms associated with flukes so I am unsure if I should move ahead with the dip.

I would go ahead and dose Prazipro, even as a preventative. It is one of the gentlest medications we have at our disposal.

Okay thanks, it is coming in the mail tomorrow so I will do that as soon as I get it and I will skip the freshwater dip unless someone thinks I should still do that.
