Fluval edge 6g tank build

things have been rather slow at the moment. ive been having a small problem with my temperature...... my tanks been getting up to 82.8...... its away from windows just in the hallway of my house. i know its a bit high so to counter this i raised my heater from 77 to be set at 80.5. let me know if im wrong but I should be only looking at 1 degree temp swing to keep things stable correct? also as long as things are under 85 degrees..... im so used to running from 78 to 80 on my older tanks but this is the first time i attempt something this small running this hot.

The less the temperature swing the better so setting it higher is better With the small tanks and the lids it gets up there I had problems with mine until I took the lid off.

Yeah I'm trying hard to keep it on lol I'm just trying to find that sweet spot where it won't swing to much. Almost there though I think

Well I haven't updated this in a little bit but I got some live stock. This is all I want in there as far as stuff that can swim to help keep maintenance low. The mushroom coral you see there I got it about 2 weeks ago from my dad's tank to help the cycle along and it's been doing great. The temperature issue I had has now been somewhat figured out ranging 80 to 81.8

Alright so I know I haven't updated this thread in a little bit but but heres something newly added. I got some hammers to start my coral addiction off. Things have been running smoothly so far just maintaining things with a gallon water change a week (which is nothing). I'm literally going through a 16 ounce bottle of water for top 1 every two weeks :).

Filtration changes I bought some chemipure elite and portioned it for for 6 gallons.
The mp10 I've set it to the lowest setting on long pulse mode.
The temperature swings I'm having are still there I'm looking into rigging a computer fan in the hood to see if it makes a difference. That's it for now thanks for reading.

So heres a pretty big update...... for the holidays I updated my light to a AI Prime HD. for this to fit my tank I had to make a new hood, I went a little bit taller than the original hood and wider to get a better spread out of the prime. I love this full control of each LED is great. I also wanted to go over my water changes, I have a 1 gallon bucket with a powerhead premixed with reef crystal all I do is change out 1 red solo cup worth of water daily (it's part of my getting ready to go to work routine.)

Well here's a small update now that I got a filter to actually take decent pictures of the tank. So I've made a new habit while I get ready for work to just perform a 1 red Solo cup water change daily to help keep up maintanace it's been working great as everything looks happy so far. The only thing I don't like is the fact that my tank runs between 82 and 84.5 degrees.
