Fluval F90 - MP10DQ, Fluval 307

Hi,

I want to convert my Fluval F90 (34 gallons) freshwater to saltwater.
Will it be enough to have only 1 Vortec MP10DQ ?

I have Fluval canister 307 which can do up to 70 gallons.
Any suggestion on what to use in the 3 basket of the 307 ?

I don’t see any reason it can’t work. Maybe add a HOB skimmer. For the baskets, I’d just do carbon and GFO.

I can see it working. The MP10 could definitely work, I would think. I’d agree to run a HOB (hang on the back) skimmer, but not 100% necessary. As for the baskets, for me that would depend on how frequently you plan on cleaning it. I’d do carbon and GFO(as needed). And save the third basket for a polishing pad (as needed as it will clog quickly).

IMO, I think it should work fine. I'd also go to a hang on back skimmer. You don't need it to remove anything, just use it to help oxygenate the water.

I was thinking about adding some Aquaforest Life Bio Fil in middle basket but I think with all the rocks in the tank,
I won't need it but not sure.

So, I can have like 2 bags of carbon in the top basket, 2 bags of GFO in the middle basket and some polishing
pad in the bottom basket like this:

The fluval 307 have 2 black sponge in the bottom basket, should i use it with 2 polishing pad at the top of the black sponge ?

GFO should "tumble" or it will get as hard as a brick. Maybe you will get it out of the filter, Maybe Not.
