^^^ buy the red can. It's for windows/doors. It cures the slowest (~1 hr) making it the easiest to work with.

All i can say is wow! That tank looks so realistic. Its was realy cool to see what it turned out like. Post some more pics plz. Iv seen another build like this with the foam and there was alot of questions about LR and how well the fake sand cover foam adapted. How is the biological filtration turned out, do you ever have any probs? Other than that iv seen this done alot with fresh water but id dont see why it hasnt been used much in sw.

Where do we find the heavy black egg crate like you used? I was thinking of using the pond foam, seems to be the same but black. Any one use that product?

The pond foam works great. Lots of people here have used it. I just made a mini tower to put in my nano. There is am overflow in the middle. I will post up some pics soon.

only thing not-so-great about modern plastics is the 100 dollar minimum order. hard to get there with eggcrate alone.

Just get some krylon paint and paint the white 1 black.

the problem is that the white stuff i got at lowes (or HD), is SUPER brittle and would probably snap in half it I tried to make a similar aquascape.

at the beginning of this thread, tiggsy remarked that the black stuff is way stronger, so THATs why I want it not for looks. why do I care what color it is when its gonna be buried under rock and foam?

my rock stacks will be about 30" tall.

ok 30 high i see what you mean. I made a pillar for my nano that is 24 high and I was going to make some for my other tank and it is only 25 high.

If you cant the black with out ordering a bunch. try and do a group buy with some friends.

You could also double up the white and connect it with a lot of zip ties. Post some pics when you do it. I need to upload the ones I just did for my Nano.

I am planning of using pond foam. Its black and will blend in better.
