Foam stone Wall

Well after 6 months I have completed my 180 gal foam stone wall. I am going to share some picture of the full process. I will post some now and the rest later. Any questions please ask.

This is the first stage

This picture was to see how everything was going to fit. That is really rock which I foaned in to place. Look very close I have installed 2 tunnels.

where do you get such stuff like that

I took uncure rock and broke it up in to smal peaces. The foam I used is pond foam plus black egg crate.

Love those foam walls. Would it be possible to do in an existing tank? How long to cure?

no it is best to tear down the tank

Looks great! How did you get the sand to adhere to the black foam?

Foam is interesting since you can mold it however you want. That wall will look cool covered in coral a.coraline algae.

I remember lots of people trying this years ago with spray-foam insulation. The biggest problems were expansion cracking tanks and buoyancy. Thankfully your tank didn't crack! Has the buoyancy issue been cracked with pond foam?

Well if it is just foam,(one-component pond foam it comes in black and beige color), it needs a week to cure. If he used epoxy to adhear any sand or crushed coral, it'll need to cure longer. Make ready your army of snails. Scrapers don't take well to foam .

I know this because i used it in my DT as well.

To put everything together I use wet system 105 they use this on boats. I put it on the foan then sprinkle sand on it let it set for 2 wks to be sure it dry . So I called the manufacture and they said it has been use on aquariums for a long time.
