Follow-up on PROP auction frags...

AZBigJohn

Usually confused...
I was really excited to finally make my very first PROP auction last month, and left with quite a few frags. Granted, not all of the frags I left with were from the PROP portion, but I wanted to show how several of the frags I picked up were doing.

Please remember I do not have near the camera equipment or picture-taking skill as many of you, not do I have the aquarium skills of many of you...

But they are growing...

The tank is a 4 months in 6 foot long 155 gallon bow-front.

A piece of Rainbow Pocillopora I received from Hunter a couple weeks before PROP and a small frag of Nuclear Green Birdsnest below it.

I am not sure which Monti this was (It is bright green with red dots) but is already growing very well)

I do have a love for mushrooms and softies, and I picked up couple of very nice mushrooms at the auction, too. A "warty" mushroom, and a golden mushroom, and both of them are expanding...

I have an archway that I hope to eventually be a "zoa / paly garden" and got a start on that plan at the auction, to. While this closeup doesn't show the arch, it does show the zoas and palys opening up.

and another view:

Hopefully those of you that had frags up for auction recognize some of your frags here, and it gives you some good feelings to know they are being enjoyed! I hope to one day have a tank that is as good looking as some of the beautiful tanks I have seen visiting some of your homes.

Very nice set-up John. It was my first auction in a very very long time.

BTW, you keep besting me on a lot of those frags or they would have been in my tank. :)

looks good, especially to see the birdsnest and monti doing well in a younger tank. I believe the monti is a Seasons Greetings, there is one other that is similar it could be as well.

Both of the green w/red polyp monti appear to be Seasons Greetings (may be the same as chili pepper monti, not sure). They may have come from me.
A little advice on them - they grow like a weed in my tank and can overtake other corals nearby. Try placing them on their own rock or away from other corals you don't want them battling against. They will grow well in medium to high lighting and flow. Should encrust until growing up against something, or needing more light. JP

That is Gonzo's Golden Dragon Rhodactis Mushroom. It will get some really nice unique colors on it when it grows out. I noticed it didn't like direct light under my Kessils or 150 HQI.
