Food Experiences

I usually just feed a variety of frozen foods from San Francisco Brand to Hikari; sometimes mixed with a little garlic oil (with flake). Recently I've been feeding with Instant Ocean Omnivore Gel Foods and I love the results thus far. All my fish seem to really enjoy it especially my Yellow Watchman and Pistol Shrimp. The Pistol will actually go further than normal out of his hole and grab a chunk. My inverts swarm all over it too.

Just thought I'd share my experience with this, and would like to hear some other experiences with foods.

I have been using the gel food for quite some time now as i was able to get quite a bit at MACNA. The food is easy to manage easy to keep around. I feed all my tanks a couple times a week with a few different gel varieties. The do recommend this as a supplement so i still vary between a few different frozen also, but the fish seem to eat this stuff up faster.

i was wondering about these gel based foods. always wanted to try but i hate buying food that my fish wont like. i have a frig and freezer full of rejected foods.

Yea now they waste away in my fridge =p If you come for the skimmer I'll give you some of these packets to try. I think I may try some different types of them as well.

I got a package of the Krill & I think the marine blend. Honestly I dont care for rit a whole bunch. I think it has a purpose like maybe if im out of town & I got someone looking after my tank. I think also it will be a great food for someone with a nano tank.

Pellets and flakes a few times a week, 1 cube of frozen mysis once a week for my Bangaii. I don't get too fancy with food, my fish are happy.

Spectrum pellets and Rod'sFood. I use to get individual products of mysis cubes, roti and oyster feast and then I realized Rod's had it all in there and them some.

I have an auto feeder that I put cut up seaweed into along with pellets. I have it dump out alittle bit three time a day. Then I do frozen mysis maybe once to twice a week if the fish were good :) Nothing fancy for me and my fish love the routien (sp?) they will actulatly go over to the the area of water where they know the auto feeder is at, and wait for the food to come out when they know it's getting close to feed time. It pretty cool how smart they are sometimes.

Spectrum pellets daily, with Rods 1x/week, and a treat ( 2x/week) of Purple dried seaweed got from a seller at a frag swap in OH some time ago for my tang.
