Bj and Tina were the concessions last year . We had hot dogs, bbq, chips, drinks and candy bars. They are also helping out again this year. We need to narrow it down to maybe two main items and two - three side items. And drinks which I would do two diff brand sodas and one diet and a water. This year I have a popcorn machine so we will be adding that to our concessions. The smell of popcorn popping always get s people to buy food. I am not sure how much food was left over and as to how much we need this year. If you would please get with Bj and Tina so that all can be coordinated and see what items are left over from last year in the paper goods area and what if any items have be donated. The help is very much appreciated. Thanks Preston. Once ya‘ll decided on the menu and what items need to be purchased the club will need to vote on it.

Let me know how I can be of assistance. I would love to help out

Right now everything is good as we get closer we will need some help and the day of the event. Thanks for offering

johnsonville brats(done the real way---cooked in beer then grilled), burgers(even children love grilled burgers, and hot dogs with the toppings)--i don't mind the extra work it takes to prepare and cook this, but we need to show members and potential new members and patrons that we got it going on, that we go all out at these types of events, doing anything smaller will just show we have no diversity in catering people(remember, i have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, so showcasing food is a specialty of mine), besides, it will be donated food

i'm sorry , but here is my 2 cents-- if the club wants to have diet soda-popcorn and candy and water, then i'm sorry but that won't bring in the people, but if that's what the club wants, then i will just not offer my assistance-- i'm trying to offer things and ideas that have worked in the past for every event(small or large) that i have ever been associated with and it just seems that we are trying to go that road, which is fine, but an indeed travesty

Preston your assistance is greatly appreciated and needed. In the previous post I did state that last year we had BBQ, Hot Dogs, Chips, Candy bars, A regular drink, diet drink and a water. The food was not a big ticket item last year. Many people did not stay the whole day. They really came for great buys on frags. It was our plan this year two have two main entrees and two to three sides plus popcorn, and drinks. We did not have any one offer last year to cook on site so that is why we went the way we did. We kept the BBQ warm in a crock pot and had a hot dog turner. Any and all Ideas are great so don't hesitate to put the idea out there and then it can be voted on at a meeting. We also have to think of ways to keep the warm items warm and the cold items cold. And the only water will be the sinls in the bathrooms.

I agree that we need to have concessions, but the corals, demos, etc are the main focus of the frag swap. Having concessions available is just a convenience for those attending the event. Most do not really care about the quality or type of food we have. They just want to grab something quick that they can carry around with them as they shop. Also, those with their own frags appreciate being able to grab something quick. This comes from having attended several frag swaps in the past few years, both locally and in Middle Tennessee. Just my opinion, though.

I still have most of the paper goods we bought last year..if I remember right about how much was originally purchased, we used less than half. I also still have the unopened condiments and plastic ware...(dates will still be good on condimates)so we are off to a good start with repeating the hot dogs . Tina's Bar B Q was a big hit too ...I have not been able to score the 4/ 1.00 candy bars so far this year( best so far has been 3/1.00) and lost my chip guy that donated all the chips last year.Jay donated the hot dogs last year too so that will be an expense if he is not set up to do that again...I think everyone needs to be ready to make suggestions at this months meeting about what they would like to see served and we will make decisions with a vote....Just keep in mind there is no kitchen and no good water source at the facility. Great place for a frag swap but lacking in the restaraunt department.
