Food grade plastic???

I'm planning on building a sump... Some people say it needs to be "food grade" plastic.. I see people using regular rubbermaid bins with no problem.. Can anybody add any insight on this topic..

Take any plastic container and flip it over. On the bottom you'll see a little triangle formed by some arrows with a number in the middle. This is how you can tell what kind of plastic the container is made of:

Look for #'s 2, 3 or 4. HDPE (#2) is the best. Those white 5 gallon buckets that everything (including salt mixes) come in are HDPE. Rubbermaid containers are usually LDPE (#3).

What ever you get, take a few extra minutes and wash the container. My Rubbermaid container had a minor film of "gunk" on it - may have been from the store...

#5 isn't any good? I was going to use one for a surge device.
