for a 65 gallon acrylic (48"x18"x17") on a vertex mocean: 6055 or 6095?

The 6095 has a much more broad flow but is it a broad flow that is too much force? I want to cover the most area and the powerhead mounted on the mocean will give me a sweep plus my Tunze will have wavemaking with the reefkeeper APC. Is this overkill?

The minimum gph of the 6095 is ~570. The 6055 is 296. I still haven't decided on the corals, tank isn't setup yet but I may have mostly or all sps.

I will have the mocean/tunze on the front side to cover the front of the tank and I don't care if it looks dumb. I've got just about everything for this system including the Mocean. Don't have the Tunze, return pump or the tank. Should I be looking into a larger tank? Everything is sized for a bigger tank, I did it that way because I bought it one peice at a time. This is the only way I can afford it and I splurged on each piece. Only thing is I want a tank I can reach into.

The 6095 has a more diffuse flow, it covers about 3ft by 3ft. The 6055 is a more focused flow that covers about 4ft by 18". If you position the pump in the center and oscillate it, the 6095 will do a good job. Just a caution on oscillators, they do tend to shorten the pump life as the cord will break down from the constant motion. I would protect the cord as much as possible with a cable loom and be sure it has some slack. Overtime the UV of the lighting makes the cord brittle and the movement will cause the cord to crack, this type of damage is not covered by warranty.
