For Current Nova Extreme Pro Owners

Wow Benek you must have a lot of time for yourself. But i would stay away from that fixture in the first place. Never heard of anything good about it. But it seems from what i read (didnt read the whole article) that u knew what u was doing.

Thanks Mark,

No time for myself at all but I had to do it. I couldn't have a vacum machine hanging over my tank and nobody wanted to buy the fixture from me. Couldn't return it either as the box was somewhere on the way to a recycling facility.

As for the light output, I think it should serve the purpose well. The reflectors are supposed to be much better then on Current's previous fixtures, lots of people have praised them. I only keep softies (love 'em) and going from 8 regular t5 (216 Watts Total) to 12 HO T5s (468 Watts Total) should be enough to keep them happy. I do keep 2 pieces of SPS (don't know what they are) just as light/water quality indicators; if they are doing OK the rest should be very happy.

As to "know what I am doing", well, I took 2 years of "electronic systems assembly" before moving here...so yeah I know couple of things or at least the very basics needed to survive :-)

P.S. Welcome to RC Mark

Well i been a member since last year as you can see but didnt post here. Thanks anyways. As i will be moving soon so might come in handy.

I have the NEP 48" and dont mind the noise at all. I upgraded from the normal NE and that was like having a plane in my living room. And I am used to servers humming all day.

^^^ The 48 inches probably has only 2 fans (side?) so it should be half as bad I guess. I just couldn't take the noise. Tanks are supposed to be calming not stressing and that is exactly what I am trying to achieve.
