For Sale or Trade

Finally caught the greedy 6 line out of my otherwise peaceful 55g tank and he is up for adoption. Great fish and certainly has no problems feeding. LOL! He didn't get the nickname 'Fatso' for nothing.

He is moderately aggressive - not a fin nipper but he will bully non-aggressive species like firefish and gobies. He would be a great fish for a tank that houses more aggressive species.

Fatso (the fish formerly known as 'Handsome') is super-colored and very healthy. [bright blue, neon orange stripes, yellow-green tail] I have had him for about 5 months and he has been a perfect gentleman other than the occasional 'Get outta my way' spurts where he herds the less boisterous fish away from the food. This is the reason I am having to remove him - my sifter goby is having trouble competing with the bottomless belly of this fish and I'm not even risking putting him in a tank with my pseudochromis or fairy wrasse.

He is reef safe, although he will eat pods and possibly baby snails or fan worms. Approximately 2"- 2 1/4" long and 3" around the middle [just joking, but he really does have a noticable mysis gut]

I will take best offer in cash, or trade for frags. Looking for a small Montipora frag in a color other than orange [encrusting, plating, branching - any type is good] Also accept small frag of zoas, rics, some colorful mushrooms, but no softies please (I am well stocked with them)

[The Montis are doing so well in my tank they are starting to take over the place. The pieces broke off my large plating Monti (not shown) and the other pieces in the photos are actually fused to the rocks from when I rearranged some of the corals a few months back. :)]

Thanks, Kurt. Sounds great. Send me a PM as to when and where. Mainly available weeknights after 6pm. :) Glad he will be getting a good home.

Forgot to mention, I am located in Collinsville IL for anyone interested in trading. Would be willing to meet halfway for those who live on the other side of the metro.

violaceous! How did you capture him? I am wanting to remove mine, but the little guy is very agile.

Thanks,

Mike

Well, the first time was fairly easy since hes a piglet.

I have one of those clear round containers with the plastic lid (like they sell as betta houses). I put that in the tank and let it settle, then squirted some mysis inside. Some of it blew out, but a few pieces remained in there moving around and driving him nuts. He couldnt figure out how to swim up and then down into the container to get it. After a few minutes, he accidentally found his way in and took his time figuring out how to escape. So, I nabbed it, pulled it out of the tank and threw the net over the top. Voila!

Of course, that trick seems to only work once. He was much harder to trick the next time, but in QT he is easier to net. ;)

Good luck! The key seems to be food for a greedy fish. They just cannot resist.
