For those of you who do two-part...

Got tubes?
I highly recommend trying to get a magnetic stirrer. :D

Stubborn alk mixes? No more! You follow me camera guy?

I just brought mine in to work because... well... I was doing absolutely nothing with it at the house. Turns out its great for mixing two part. I really wish I hadn't shook these bottles so much yesterday, this could have done so much for me... heh... but its working well, even if a bit noisy.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Wow thats so crazy you bring this up. I mixed up some cal and alk last night and after I went to bed and lay there thinking. I thought man a magnetic stirrer would really make mixing two part alot easier. What are the odds.

I think the odds are pretty good with minds as great as ours.

Great minds think alike, right? lol

Hey while we are on the subject of two part. Do you dose manually or with a dosing pump. I am having trouble to get a drip set up that is consistant and you dont have to fiddle with it every time. I am using an IV line set up but I think the alk/cal fluid is too thick for it. It drips but it never fully empties and I cant get a slow steady drip to drip overnight.

I'm dosing manually for now, but I'm planning on moving to dosers eventually. I've gotta get some new lighting, an MP10, and then dosers. :)

I dripped through an IV when I had my 55 and never really had a problem. Are there different size lines? I used the bags that are designed for feeding pumps that attach to the stomach. I don't know if those are maybe a little larger, but it worked flawlessly. I just ran RO water through it every now and then to keep the lines from gunking up.

Ya a feeding tube is a bigger bore than a standard IV line. I need to look into that. While my plan is to have a aquamedic doser, but thats gonna be a while.

I've been a big fan of Breaking Bad since the first episode 2 yrs ago.....and I'm really starting to wonder what Brandon really does for a living...

I agree, Rick. I've always thought that. Heh.

Mark:

 I watched the first episode or two... neat show... I need to watch more of it.

But believe you me, I'm in IT. (sounds like a bad rap line...)

So, today I'm using it to mix up some interceptor. I'm really glad I didn't sell this thing! Its actually coming in really, really handy! :)

Would you have access to another one or know where to get a used one ? Im very interested now in the possibilities this thing has.

Oh man... they're great! I'm just realizing how useful they are as well.

I just picked mine up on eBay.

You can make DIY ones also. I made one from an old computer fan with some neodymium magnets. works like a charm.

Has anyone see the vortech cocktail mixer. I've seen someone made one with a vortech powerhead That was portable in a backpack.
