For those of you who have rimless tanks & high alk/ca consumption

Do you get a white build up at the water line every 3-4 days? I was so thrilled to finally obtain a rimless tank, but find myself having to scrap off this hard white buildup every three or four days, which completely ruins the rimless look. I am pretty sure it is calcium carbonate buildup as it doesn't come off easy, like salt creep.

Perhaps I didn't realize the additional maintenance of keeping a rimless tank looking spotless?

Is this normal for you rimless tank owners, that are stocked full of sps, requiring the need for heavy two-part dosing? Or perhaps I am dosing too much?

Thanks

first, check you KH and CA++ to make sure you are not dosing too much to cause precipitation.

but in general, a white line forms on the water line, which needs to be scraped. I do it once a week.

i have a rimless tank and i have to scrape it off only every few weeks. But do check your parameters just to be sure like mentioned above.
