this would affect those with DAS, DELTEC AND H&S skimmers...
I need a pump for my skimmer it is a h&s a150 it came with the aqua bee up2000/1 pump.. they are 38w and outrageously priced...i have seen lots of people swapping to the Dragon sp3 pump at 15w...i swear the aqua bee says it is 2000l/h on it and the dragon is only 700l/h....

Question is to me that seems like a down grade... but everyone says it is an upgrade... could this be explained please... and for those who have done the swap how is performance? How is noise?

Thank you so much in advance

I have both on the shelf, the red dragon will be the next replacement to go on.
While the figures you quote do match my pumps the aquabees do not specify what exactly 2000/l means. BUT 1/2 the power draw should affect performance.
Since this is all that's available we either go with it or buy a new skimmer.

Don't forget that the Aquabee pump was not originally a skimmer pump from Aquabee. The stats on the label are the original specs for use as a water pump. I would bet the stats as a skimmer pump are darn near the same as the Dragon sp3 when used as a skimmer pump. True watts included!

I think I an going to order it and see how it works... it is cheap on Amazon... far better then the aqua bee.. plus the you tube videos i have watched show it is petty much a direct fit
