Hey guys, i am doing the quick cure (formalin and malachite green) treatment for ick. My blue tang was scratching. He is in a QT tank now. My question is that can i also do the API erythromycin along with quick cure treatment? I am on day 2 of Quick cure. I dont see any progress on him. Wondering if i should run antibiotics concurrently. Help me.

It's takes awhile to cure ich I wouldn't mix meds. I would let it run it's course.I have been using ttm for ich and that works well. Little more work but totally worth it.

thank you guys. i dont have 2 QT tank for transfer method.. So should i do the copper treatment next? To do the copper treatment i should do 25% water change and run carbon for a day and then copper right? (because QUICK CURE was used on the whole QT tank and was not just a dip)

You don't need a QT per se. You could also use a Rubbermaid container with an air stone for water movement and something like Prime to lock ammonia. You may need a heater depending on your ambient temp.
To go the copper route I would do at least a 50% water change and run carbon. If you are using filter media in an HOB I would replace that as well. Make every precaution to remove the Quick Cure as the formalin mixed with the copper will be deadly.

Sure, it will help. But there is no way to test formalin. Talk to SeaChem, mfg of Cupramine tech support (1-800-seachem, I think); I think they will advise that no formalin be mixed with copper. Salt is cheap, changing water easy.
