I found my Poor blue hippo dead today he was fine happy healthy swimming eating like a litte pig today he's I ran a full watet test everything came back spot on. No signs of ick he wasn't getting harassed its very strange and sad he's only been in my 220 for about a week a half but he seemed perfectly happy as of the second day he was in the tank any ideas.

They are sensitive fish. If he came from an aquarium store, most of those fish go through hell before they get there. The stress of being transported and transplanted from one tank to the next is very frequently enough to kill them sooner rather than later.

Even ones that come from a happy home and are moved can face the same demise. It's often just the nature of the beast with no rhyme nor reason. If your tank is healthy and your water quality is good like you say it is, it likely just part of the statistics.

I won't even put one in my tank for that very reason. They are sensitive and if they don't die in short order, they will often get ich which can effect other fish in the tank too.

Just a damn shame one of my favorite fish just really shocked how she was fine one day dead the next no signs of health deterioration

She's my unicorn the one I can't have I had some in my younger days but that was when I had small 90g tanks which they had no business being in so I figured this tank would be perfect its just not meant to be lol :(

honestly I cant keep a powder blue tang for nothing. 125g eight yr old systems still couldn't keep one alive. so newjack I understand ur pain......
