I just got back from old town aquarium. they had a pair of dwarf seahorses ... they were a black color (maybe dark blue or brown). Very active and attractive. Didn't see a price, but you could call and ask.

Adam, you just love that store dont you? I stopped by ocean design last night and i saw a candy cane for sale:29.99, it was the normal colored one i guess. See anything else interesting at old town? i still have not gone in that store.

They wont give prices over the phone.. its a bunch of BS I wanted a jawfish but said i'd like to know the price since they're 45 mins 2 an hour away, and I said if its over $40 i'd be very angry as thats kinda high.. and it was $50 I believe.. They got an earfull, and I have not been back since.

Jose, Yeah, I love that place. They treat me well and have healthy stock and they are a bus ride away. If I had a car I would be all over the place like the rest of you. As for stock, Old Town was a little low on stock today. They had an awesome hammer coral, though that I thought about getting. I did pick up a fish, though, and am very pleased.

As for prices over the phone ... I don't think that is their policy. While I was there tonight somebody called and asked about an air pump and they quoted him a price over the phone. I called them a few months ago and they gave me the price of some dry goods I wanted to pick up. Maybe you called a differant store or maybe you got someone new there or maybe they were just being jerks that night, but i have always had a positive experience there. I know that some of their staff members read this board, maybe they will comment.

yeah they are a little pricey for me...30$ for a GSP frag y'all would sell for 10? seems hi. I will say that the staff knew what they were about though. Still, 50 for a jawfish!? Kinda stinks cuz they are like 1.5 mi from me, yet might as well be in lake in the hills for their prices...

I've always been given a prices over the phone. I think I remember people complaining that Old Orchard doesn't give prices.

but i think old orchard changed ownership, They do have pricey stuff but if you look around you can find decent prices. The service is also very good.

Old Orchard doesn't give prices over the phone. Old Town does. Nice guys, good service at both stores. Except for food stuff they're very pricey imo.

i am happy to pay a few extra bucks for a good product. everything i have purchased there (old town) is growing and happy in my tank. i pick up some stuff online, but for livestock it is my go-to place.
