Four more gorgeous RBTA on Diver's Den update tonight

Yep, the chinese roses that flooded the market a few years back did not do well in aquaria and there were a million of them. Locally they got as low as $25.
So, basically they are just stating that they are not those and will do better in aquaria, the tonga, indonesia, and other places do alot better then the china roses.

great...so you are saying mine is not going to do well in captivity??

I wouldn't say that means it's a "Chinese" one or dyed, I have RBTA's that are almost that bright red, with green oral disks, and a year later all nine clones are doing great. I'm going to cut six of them again tomorrow, as a matter of fact.

I really doubt LA would sell dyed 'nems.

I haven't seen any dyed RBTA's in a while. I think the industry has caught on and they are not coming in as frequently as they were last year. On the other hand, I have been seeing dyed Sebae's left and right.

When did dyed anemones come up sonja?

The Chinese ones mentioned were dyed, or so I've been told.

i guess time will tell...im pretty experienced and i should be able to tell within a short period of time if its dyed or not...if i spent $200 on a dyed anem thats going to die in a few weeks im going to be SUPER ****ed.

The chinese roses that flooded the market were not "dyed". I never saw one in the hundreds that were in the lfs's near me. They "died" because they came from colder waters and did not survive well in our warmer water aquariums.

How could you tell that they weren't dyed? Most of if not all of the RBTA's that I saw come out of China last year were supposedly dyed at least in my area. They would come in bright red but the color would fade over time to a dull brown color. Everyone assumed this was from being dyed but could it have been stress or to much light? If this was the case I would have thought that they would bleach instead of turn brown.

No, ime, they werent dyed. Dyed anemone's have the foot the same color as the rest of the anemone 99% of the time. These anemone naturally have green bases with the bright red tentacles and main body. They lost it over time because of the unnatural enviroment that was different then where they came from....
They wouldnt bleach because of wrong conditions, the light isn't the problem, it is the warmer water imo.
Fwiw, my rose is the water quality diminish's or when it over heated. It faded to brown. With better water quality, it got its bright red color back.

mine was presumably from china and it wasent dyed. It was wild caught and has had its moments, buts doing pretty well.

Look like they are all sold. Its crazy the prices some of these things go for online. All you need is a good picture and people will pay anything.
