Snorvich, I had and still have LOADS of hair algae all over 2/3 of my rock. Absolutely loads of the stuff. My skimmer packed up on me and the algae started coming back as quickly as he ate it
Ah, ok. Wish I'd realised sooner
Would you say that's the likely cause then?
What's the difference in a bigger tank? Does different algae grow that it'll eat?
So should I give it 6 months or so once I set up my 75G before trying another?
Should be fine.
How do I QT it?
See my blog for a recommended quarantine protocol.
I have got Xenia but it wasn't touched at all
I also would have assumed hair algae would be sufficient...learn something new every day. Now I'm going to go feed the foxface some algae, because this has made me paranoid, lol!
So I'm alright getting another but need to make sure there's nori available at all times right?
Are algae rings worthwhile?
I would not get one in a tank smaller than 75 gallons.
I meant once I have the upgrade running
Are algae rings worthwhile?
Then, it would work. However, with this type of fish, I would still supply Nori every day.
How do you work out the amount to give them?
Do I just work out the amount that disappears in a day and add that?
Thanks for tip about the ring Nina
Thanks Snorvich!
Any advice for Saddle Clowns? They're on my list and I've read up.... But I thought I'd read up for the one spot....
Saddlebacks are supposed to be docile compared to other clowns, and will apparently live in small groups (although I'm only having a pair). They're approx. 1.5" each at the moment
Clownfish in captivity do not live in groups. They sound a bit big but maybe it will be ok.
