Foxface dead, don't know why?

Hair algae is a different thing. You would need to provide Nori constantly in a tank this size.

What's the difference in a bigger tank? Does different algae grow that it'll eat?

A 75 gallon mature tank will provide enough algae for one algae grazer. Absent any obvious parasite, starvation is the most likely. That is why, foxface or rabbit fish munch on corals if sufficient algae is not available; they are eating the xooanthellae (a type of algae) in the corals. Brine shrimp will definitely not cut it for this type of fish.

I also would have assumed hair algae would be sufficient...learn something new every day. Now I'm going to go feed the foxface some algae, because this has made me paranoid, lol!

There is various LFS type commercial algae foods, but the best results for a moderate price would be Asian Market Nori. Rubber banded to a rock or on an algae clip.

I would not get one in a tank smaller than 75 gallons.

Are algae rings worthwhile?

i put one in occasionally. my kole tang and all 4 wrasses go crazy for it but i always have quite a bit left when they lose interest. you could always try them to see how your fish likes it. i remove it from the tank after 2 or 3 hours as i don't want it falling apart.

That is a reasonable way.

Clownfish are pretty easy but . . . be sure you get a bonded pair or two very small ones. Be aware that once sexually differentiated, depending on species, they will want to control about 25 to 50 gallons of tank space. Unless they have the proper anemone as a host, they may choose to associate with: a place in the tank, an LPS coral (which they may damage), or piece of equipment.

Saddlebacks are supposed to be docile compared to other clowns, and will apparently live in small groups (although I'm only having a pair). They're approx. 1.5" each at the moment

Clownfish in captivity do not live in groups. They sound a bit big but maybe it will be ok.

They already live together if that makes any difference? They're probably even smaller than that to be honest.



Also, will captive bred clowns host any anemone or do the different species like specific ones?
