Foxface: how reef safe?

Plan on turning my FOWLR into a basic reef. Only issue fish would be my foxface. I'm pretty sure that these guys will eat zoas and stuff like that. What else will they eat? Plan to add some nice hammers, open brain, and some zoas. That would be the basic stuff but will maybe add on to the list as thing get added, maybe a derasa or squamosa maybe.

IMO/IME a well fed foxface is a reef safe foxface. Daily algae sheets and rocks to graze on should steer them away from corals.

Ok, thanks, because i saw a teardrop totally destroy a colony of zoas at my LFS. Does him being a one spot make any difference.

I don't think one species is more prone to nipping than another, but FWIW I have a bicolor. Also, I would take the example at your LFS with a grain of salt. Most stores don't feed well.

My one spot hasn't touched any of my LPS or Softies, grown him from 1.5" to 4" as of now this past year. Still pretty skittish UNLESS Its chow time.

One of the LFS here has a foxface in one of their large frag tanks. I imagine at least THAT specimen doesn't touch corals otherwise he'd be out of there.

My foxface never touched any corals but for some reason one day it started to pick at the xenia and now no xenia is safe in the tank. Other than that I have a mixed reef and everthing else if fine.

For many, that would be a benefit!

My Magnificent Foxface eats out of my hands and hasn't touched anything. My favorite fish. I know the minimum is 125, I'd recommend a minimum of 210. When he was in the 90 he was very skittish, now it's a completely different attitude.

Interesting you say that because my foxface is one of my most active fish in my 55, next to my starry and fuzzy.

That fish is going to get at least 7 inches long, isn't he? 55 seems a little small. I'm leery of keeping a one-spot in my 90 gallon...
