Just so everyone knows, from the 101 you go WEST on Thunderbird, and then NORTH on Rio Vista Pkwy. You follow the road all the way until the end, and you will come up on a gym and baseball feilds. JMC thats right... yea??? Where are the paviloions? Just thought people would need more directions, its a little hard to find.

I will be there for sure, pretty excited about the weather! Its a great day for a BBQ, nice and cool!

Pavillions are to the west of the parking area cant miss them big round area with lots of BBQ pits and tables.

The picnic was a fun time. The food was great, and the amount of food, drinks and toys we received for $7 was amazing. My wife and I did not go home hungry, that's for sure. If this becomes an annual or twice-annual event, we'll definitely be back.

The approach to the park is a bit confusing. From Thunderbird, it looks like a tiny patch of dirt with one pavilion next to a dry wash. Once you turn onto Rio Vista it all opens up. There's a skate park, a playground, a "water playground" (no slides, no pools, lots of water jets and sprays), and a large set of grills and pavilions. It's a very nice park.

Ditto on the confusing entrance to the park. I drove by the entrance for a long time and never knew there was more to it. I always thought, "Now that's a really small park" every time I went by the entrance with it's one little pavilion right by the road...
