I know lots of you clever reefers out there make your own frag racks...can you show me how to make one? And where do you get magnets if you use them? Do the magnets need to be a special kind?

I have had good luck with these plastic coated magnets from K&J Magnets.
I use two pairs of magnets per rack. (Magnets not shown in these initial pics.)

My long shelf rack.

My large corner rack.

I made a rack like these last ones pictured with uncoated rare earth magnets. On the bracket part i made a pocket for the magnet, then skinned it with acrylic. The magnet is trapped in there with the air it had when i welded it shut.

An algae magnet works easily as well... Just attach acrylic or eggcrate with gel superglue and submerse under water... easy peasy :)
