It's that time again. The Middle Tennessee Reef Club is planning our third annual frag swap in Nashville, Tn. on January 20th from 12:00-4:00. There will a table charge this year of $25 per whole table or $15 for half a table, plus we will be giving 5 raffle tickets for each table order (3 for each half table). We would like for interested club BOD members to contact us via PM to arrange for tables for those who only have a few frags to trade/sell. The reason for the table charge this year is due to an increase of costs for the room by almost 5X from last year.

Last year was a great success with around 200 people coming through the doors (we needed a bigger room), so we hope to make this year at least as good as last year. Please post to let us know how many to plan for this year, More information will be coming very soon.

Hope to see you all there! Any questions you may have just post them here and ill respond. thanks!<~~~steve

Will there be online vendors at this swap too?
chadfarmer, you should def. come. we had a blast last year.

chelsey- last year there were quite a few vendors showing items at the show. this year we hope to have more. i will be posting a definite list in the near future. im not sure if im allowed to post who came last year per RC's advertising rules but we had everything from tank manafacturers to popular calcium reactor/skimmer builders there. <~~~~steve

Post it, we don't have rules over here. Our theme song is Rebel Yell. You may have heard of it. It was sung by our savior Mr. Billy Idol.

(I'm not talking about the bourbon called Rebel Yell)

How many tables did you have last year? Are there good LFS around? How far is the aquarium from you guys?

we had about 40 tables last year and it was very crowded. This year were looking at a community center that has good access and 8000 square feet so theres plenty of room for all. we do have an awesome lfs called the aquatic critter that has a huge selection of fish and a few corals. http://www.aquaticcritter.com/
check out the new arrivals list. also the tenn. aqaurium is about 2 hours east of us in chattanooga but well worth the drive. i went on my honeymoon in september and had a blast. http://www.tnaqua.org/VisitorInfo/VisitorInfo.asp

And you openly admit this?

I have been to the Tenn. aqaurium and if your close its worth it. But I would not consider it a destination to travel for exclusively.

he's still alive.....wow

and then some, it was a hell of a show :) i was amazed he could still move, he looks nearly dead :p <~~steve

I believe that I will be taking a road trip to this :) Are there a bunch of TN reef clubs that go to it?

Right now, we expect quite a few from the ETRC (East TN), WTMRAC (West TN), NTRC (North Tn), as well as the MTRC (or course). NARC will be coming, also (North Alabama). I hope to get some from the Chattanooga club as well (we need some of revhtree's zoas;)). Last year we had a number of people from CORA (Central Ohio), as well (Geo doanted a kalk reactor). A few vendors came from Wisconsin and California (Reed Mariculture). We had around 200 people last year, and expect the same this year. All of the same vendors as last year, as well a a long list of new vendors (online and LFS) have been contacted, so we are still waiting on replies for some. Below is a link to the main thread on the swap. There is already one thread on frags for sale/trade, so I would expect more to pop up soon (I'll probably have one up soon).

I would recommend it. Here is why...

1. The Tennesee Aquarium
2. Steam boat dinner cruise on Southern Belle on Tennessee River
3. Duck tours on Tennessee River
4. IMAX Theater
5. Hotel(Chatanooga Choo-Choo) has Train museum and cool shops and gardens/ponds
6. Very friendly people to visit
7. Rock City/Look Out Mountain...you can see 7 states from here at once
8. Ruby Falls...Large underground waterfall in cave
9. There is also the Incline Railroad at Lookout Mountain
10. Coolidge Park and its huge Carousel and fountains
11. Great fishing

All of these things are very close to the Aquarium and were alot of fun! I had a really good time with the Mrs.

.7--Intersting I went there when I was 8-9 on a family Civil War family Griswald vacation. It was an awesome sight from my vague memory. Didnt the Confederate use this as a view point to see where the Union was coming from??

11 & 6. True!

I do not know about the others

12. (new one) The Loveless Motel Cafe, right outside of Nashville. GREAT BREAKFAST! JMHO

Down to counting hours:). Sounds like there will be thousands of frags... Hope to see you all there:).

Mr. Firemouth-most of that is in Chattanooga, but that's only about two more hours away, so it could be worth the trip;).
